Good movie. Greatest? Not hardly.
I'm going to travel the unpopular road here. First off, let me qualify what I'm going to say by stating that this is an excellent movie. The art, theatrical-direction, and style are all very well done. Truly, this is a good movie, worth the watch, and good top-10 material.
.
But greatest NG movie of all time?! I dunno about THAT, nor its 4.20 score, or T. Fulp's claim of sending "shivers down my spine". I really don't agree with any of this.
.
While this IS a good movie, like the author says, it's "just a short film". All I see this as is the story of how one night, a kid (boy? girl? I can't tell) finds a toy truck rolling into his (her?) room, goes downstairs, and makes friends with an odd kiddy-picture drawing. Umm... okay.
.
Maybe it has something to do with the movie Poltergiest (which I haven't seen), or maybe there's some other deeper meaning here about the innocence of youth, or the persuation of friendliness, or something. But as it is, I can't seem to find anything profound enough to give this the No. 1 spot. It's kinda like mini-golf. It's good, but not THAT good.
